Limerick, Ireland 6th February 2012: Tango Telecom, the leading provider of Policy Control, Real-Time Charging & Advanced Messaging solutions, has today announced the completion of a record breaking Policy performance benchmark on the latest generation of COTS blade servers using Xeon 6 core CPUs.

The Tango iAX™ Data Policy Server achieved sustained performance of over 12,000 PDP contexts established per second per blade, at 70% CPU utilisation. The platform also demonstrated unprecedented scalability, to over 192K contexts/second from a single blade server chassis.

The benchmark test was a true end to end test, in the sense that the Tango iAX™ Data Policy Server version tested included the overhead of querying an external Subscriber Profile Repository, in this case the Tango high performance SPR hosted on additional hardware.

A further benchmark will be published in due course detailing the extremely high performance of the underlying Diameter Routing Agent (DRA), which is a key to achieving the required massive scalability.
