Essential skills required for the role:

• Experience with building Spring framework-based (versions 2.5.x and above) J2EE database driven web applications.
• Experience in specifying web interfaces and working with others to develop specifications (e.g., the use of screen mock-up tools)
• Strong knowledge of Spring framework with special emphasis on Spring Web MVC
• Strong knowledge of JSPs and Servlets
• Expert knowledge of CSS2, JavaScript , HTML & XHTML
• Good knowledge of browser portability issues and how to solve them
• Experience in user-centric web design
• Experience with a web library such as YUI or Google Web toolkit
• Experience with automated testing of web UI
• Familiarity with Java servlet containers such as Tomact & Jetty

Candidates should have a relevant degree, a minimum of 3-5 years industry experience and a strong background in the following areas:

Desirable

• Experience with YUI library and AJAX frameworks such as DWR
• Experience with testing frameworks such as Selenium or Canoo
• Rich UI development using Flex or Open Laszlo
• Maven2 build and management tool experience
• Familiarity with RDBMS such as MySQL

They should be self-starters with a good, flexible can-do attitude and be willing to adapt to changing project priorities.
