Essential skills required for the role of J2EE Database Developer:

• Experience with building Spring framework-based (versions 2.5.x and above) J2EE database driven applications.
• Thorough knowledge in the use of Spring ORM, Hibernate/JPA
• Strong MySQL experience (at least version 5.x)
• Strong database design skills specifically design optimizations for high traffic and large datasets
• Good knowledge of schema migration strategies and awareness of tool support for same
• Experience in automated testing strategies for JEE database applications

Candidates should have a relevant degree, a minimum of 3-5 years industry experience and a strong background in the following areas:

• Experience with effective use of MySQL 5.1.x partitioning feature
• Database application data management strategies (pruning, purging)
• Query optimization
• Hibernate caching strategies for query performance
• Maven2 build and management tool experience

They should be self-starters with a good, flexible can-do attitude and be willing to adapt to changing project priorities.
